When replacing atire, usethesame size,tread
design, speedratingandload carrying capacity
as originally equipped. (SeeªSpecificationsº
(P .9-8) forrecommended typesandsizes of
tires andwheels.)
WARNING
. The useoftires other thanthose
recommended orthe mixed useof
tires ofdifferent brands,construc-
tion (bias, bias-belted orradial) ,or
tread patterns canadversely affect
the ride, braking, handling, ground
clearance, body-to-tire clearance,
tire chain clearance, speedometer
calibration, headlightaimand bum-
per height. Someofthese effects
may lead toaccidents andcould
result inserious personal injury.
. For Two-Wheel Drive(2WD) models,
if your vehicle wasoriginally
equipped with4tires thatwere the
same sizeandyouareonly repla-
cing 2of the 4tires, install thenew
tires onthe rear axle. Placing new
tires onthe front axlemay cause
loss ofvehicle control insome driving
conditions andcause an
accident andpersonal injury.
. Ifthe wheels arechanged forany
reason, alwaysreplace withwheels
which havethesame off-set dimen-
sion. Wheels ofadifferent off-set
could cause premature tirewear,
degrade vehiclehandling character-
istic sand/or interference withthe
brake discs/drums. Suchinterfer-
ence canlead todecreased braking
efficiency and/orearlybrake pad/
shoe wear. SeeªWheels andtiresº
(P .9-9) ofthis manual forwheel off-
set dimensions.
. When aspare tireismounted ora
wheel isreplaced, theTPMS willnot
function andthelow tirepressure
warning lightwillflash forapproxi-
mately 1minute. Thelight will
remain onafter 1minute. Contact
your NISSAN dealerassoon as
possible fortire replacement and/
or system resetting.
. Replacing tireswiththose notori-
ginally specified byNISSAN could
affect theproper operation ofthe
TPMS.
